As Chief of Staff, Commissioner Hill coordinates all staff activity to ensure that the day to day management of ADOC operations is based on organizational priorities set by the Commissioner.
Mrs. Hill began her legal career in 2001 in the capital litigation division of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, serving as an Assistant Attorney General representing the State of Alabama in death penalty cases. In 2006, she accepted an offer to serve as Special Counsel to the Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Corrections. Mrs. Hill served in that role until 2011 when she was named General Counsel. In her over eleven years with the ADOC, Mrs. Hill has successfully overseen the implementation of several settlement agreements reached in class action lawsuits brought against the ADOC as well as the United States Department of Justice’s Investigation of Tutwiler Prison for Women.
Mrs. Hill is an alumnus of the University of Alabama, earning a bachelor degree in telecommunications and film in 1997 and a juris doctorate degree in 2001.
