Inspector General
Mark Fassl serves as the Alabama Department of Corrections first Inspector General. Inspector General Fassl comes to the Department of Corrections after serving almost 30 years in the United States Army. He is an alumnus of Canisius College of Buffalo, New York, and the United States Army War College of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Inspector General Fassl has executive authority for reviewing department policies, practices, and providing oversight for internal affairs investigations.
