ADOC ACADEMY CLASS 2025-03 TO GRADUATE 101 CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
|
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) will celebrate the graduation of its third class of Correctional Officers in 2025 with 101 graduates. With one remaining class this year, 2025 is on track to be a benchmark year for ADOC academy graduation totals.
The graduation ceremony will be Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Montgomery campus of Church of the Highlands, located at 4255 Taylor Road. The officers have satisfactorily completed 10 consecutive weeks of training to obtain Alabama Peace Officers’ Standard and Training Commission (APOSTC) certification and to become Correctional Officers.
Increased Correctional Officer starting salaries, weekly hiring events, targeted recruiting, and improved workforce partnerships have been vital to this positive trend in hiring. An example of workforce partnership, the ACTIVATE career readiness program is responsible for 24 of the 101 graduates. This partnership between ADOC and the Alabama Community College System, offers a no-cost pathway to a career as a correctional officer, helping individuals who may face physical or educational barriers meet the necessary standards.
The ADOC is actively recruiting for a variety of security and non-security positions at correctional facilities statewide. To learn more about the career opportunities at the ADOC, visit join.doc.alabama.gov.
