Minimum-In: Work assignments for Minimum-In inmates must be on-property at a minimum, medium or close security facility and may be supervised
by non-security personnel with the express approval of the Warden/designee.
Minimum-Out: Minimum-Out inmates can be assigned to off-property work details without the direct supervision of correctional officers. Minimum-Out inmates will
generally be assigned to Community Work Centers (CWC), with higher security facilities only maintaining a small number for job assignments requiring minimal supervision.
Minimum-Community (Min-Comm): Inmates in this custody are allowed gainful employment in the community on a full-time basis and will be supervised in community based facilities when not working.
Medium:(security level four) correctional facilities are designed for housing inmates who have demonstrated less severe behavioral problems. Inmates are considered to be suitable for participation in formalized institutional treatment programs, work assignments, or other activities within the confines of an institution.

Staton Correctional Facility opened in June 1978 and is located off Highway 143 approximately 12 miles west of Wetumpka, AL. The institution was named in honor of Thomas F. Staton, a previous Chairman of the Board of Corrections.
Staton provides emergency medical care and a medical observation unit for Elmore and Frank Lee facilities. Additionally, Staton, through the Ingram State Technical College, offers educational and vocational courses such as adult basic education, college classes, literacy programs, auto body and heavy equipment repair, upholstery, welding, horticulture, and barbering. Staton also has a law library, staff psychologist for counseling, and substance abuse treatment programs. Staton is classified as a medium custody correctional facility.
